How To Visit Fife, Scotland| Coast, Countryside & Gastronomy

Welcome to Fife, located on Scotland's lesser visited East Coast.

Fife is known for its charming harbour villages, beautiful coastal communities, sandy beaches, and delicious seafood cafes. The area is also home to rolling hills and pretty forests, making it a wonderful blend of coast and countryside.

We’ve spent months in Fife: walking the clifftop coastal path, exploring in a campervan, and discovering it’s historical landmarks, wonderful beaches, and best things to do. Oh, and of course, indulging in Fife’s foodie gems.

Come with us and discover Fife's most stunning destinations.

Planning your Fife Trip

The best and easiest way to explore Fife is by car. With a vehicle, you can thoroughly explore both the coast and the countryside, blending a little of both into the perfect getaway. Fife has much to offer, so we suggest staying for at least two nights. But, for those who don't drive, there is an excellent bus service in Fife, and the region is easily accessible by public transport from Edinburgh.

Alternatively, choose from our list of highly-rated day trips and tours listed below.

Discover Fife

Located on the East Coast of Scotland, the ancient Kingdom of Fife is one of our favourite areas in Scotland.

Despite its relatively small size, Fife has a lot to offer, including castles, beaches, cathedrals, walks, hills, cafes, historic towns and picturesque harbour villages. After two months spent living here, we think this kingdom provides endless possibilities for weekend escapes. And wonderful coastal day trips from Edinburgh and Glasgow.
